Financing the Meat Chain: Regulatory Instruments and the Environment; New report from Fair Finance Brazil
The new report "Financing the Meat Chain: Regulatory Instruments and the Environment" by Fair Finance Brazil lead partner Idec, in collaboration with researcher Flávia do Amaral Vieira and the organizations affiliated with the Guide to Responsible Banks (GBR) was launched at COP28 earlier this month.
The report examines how the absence of regulations for credits distributed by financial institutions can impact the environment and potentially exacerbate the climate crisis. The study relies on significant data, including the self-regulation rules established in 2020 by Febraban, as well as other pertinent regulations issued by the Central Bank of Brazil in response to pressure from civil society and other countries.
