Research and analysis of IDB financing projects for environmental initiatives in the Colombian Amazon
This report presents the results of research on the participation of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) in environmental initiatives for the Colombian Amazon. The document contains a description and analysis of the funds and projects both under implementation and projected from 2018 to 2030 as of November 2023.
To carry out the analysis, a climate justice and gender justice approach was taken, looking at: implementation of strategies with a gender approach; mechanisms for community participation; access to information and the role of the private sector.
For the development of the research, a document and database review were carried out using primary sources, both from the institutions involved and from civil society networks, Amazonian peoples and social movements. Interviews with stakeholders involved in the funds were also conducted. The research team appreciates the willingness, transparency and trust provided by the interviewees when sharing the requested information.
